A 21-year-old man who attempted to rob a house in southern India's Andhra Pradesh fell asleep on the job on September 12th and was arrested the next morning.

The attempted robbery took place in East Godavari district.

Babu, a local resident himself, broke into the unlocked house in the night but was unable to resist the comfortable atmosphere created by the air conditioner in the room and decided to take a power nap.

On waking up in the morning, the homeowner sensed another presence in his house and was shocked to see Babu sleeping in the spare room.

He locked the door from the outside and urged his neighbours to call the police.

Officers rushed to the scene to take Babu into custody for attempted robbery.

Babu, a resident of a village in East Godavari, attempted to burgle the house of a petrol bunk owner after giving into his financial constraints.

He was a resident in one of the neighboring houses up until a year ago and knew the owner's daily schedule.

He broke into the unlocked house in the wee hours of the night and entered the room of the house owner, Satti Venkat Reddy, who was fast asleep.

However, Babu was unable to resist the comfortable atmosphere created by the air conditioner in the room and decided to take a power nap.

On waking up in the morning, Reddy sensed another presence in his house and was shocked to see Babu sleeping under the cot in the other room.

He promptly locked the room from outside and urged his neighbors to call the cops.

Cops rushed to the scene to take Babu into custody for attempting theft.

Babu was arrested under Section 380/ 511 in an attempt to commit theft.
