A man was rescued after falling into a 20-feet-deep borehole in Andhra Pradesh, eastern India.

Footage shows officials lowering down ropes for the bloodied man to grab onto.

Shirugushetti Satish was eventually hauled out of the pit and received medical attention for injuries sustained to his head.

A man fell into a nearly 20-feet-deep borehole on the roadside after his vehicle met with an accident in southern India's Andhra Pradesh on June 4. The incident took place in the East Godavari district.

Visuals feature the victim stuck inside the borehole in an injured state. The police officials reach the spot and initiate the rescue operation. They lower ropes into the borehole, following which they pull the victim out. Meanwhile, the man's face gets covered in blood as he clings onto the rope and comes out.

The man, identified as Shirugushetti Satish, was on his way to Rajahmundry when his vehicle hit the road divider, and he fell into the borehole on the roadside. After struggling to get out, a few locals heard his cries for help and alerted the police.

Assistant sub-inspector, Suryachandra, rushed to the spot with his team and began the rescue operation. They used ropes to pull the victim out, following which he was given medical attention for the head injuries he sustained during the accident.
