Police officers rescued two people after their car plunged into a river due to an accident in southern China.

The video, filmed in the city of Chongqing on September 17, shows two people on the top of a car stranded in the middle of a rapid river.

In another clip, police officers and local residents used a rope to bring the two trapped people onto the bank one-by-one.

According to reports, the rapid river washed away the car with two people inside after an accident.

The man named Wu and his colleague Ms Zhou were swept along the river for around 600 metres in the car until it became stuck on a stone and stopped. They then climbed out of the car through its sunroof to shout for help.

Fortunately, they were both rescued successfully and did not suffer any injuries.

9月17日上午8时30分，重庆来川的吴先生与同事周女士驾驶一辆小轿车，在途径四川德格县中扎科乡时，因交通事故冲进了雅砻江中。湍急的江水将两人连人带车冲往下游，这惊险一幕被当地一位牧民用手机拍摄了下来。
眼前这一幕是甘孜州德格县中扎科乡牧民洛德青用手机拍下的画面，他一边拍一边焦急的大喊，说这里需要人来帮忙。当时一台小轿车因为遭遇交通事故一头冲进了湍急的雅砻江水中，此刻车上的两人，连人带车被江水冲往下游。危急之下洛德青拨打了报警电话。
约7分钟后，中扎科派出所民警备好救生绳，赶到现场开展紧急救援。
车辆冲进雅砻江后，所有车门都无法打开，幸好车窗还能打开。车上两人一直被江水冲走了近600米，直到被水下一块巨石卡住车身才停了下来，两人从车辆天窗爬出来，被困车顶上不断呼救，并表示自己不会游泳。
身高1米93的辅警登巴带着绳索，涉水靠近被困人员。
在民警和附近牧民群众的共同努力下，两人逐一被营救上岸。辅警登巴和根秋泽翁脱下警服，披在他们身上，并把两人背至安全地带。
吴先生和同事周女士来自重庆，无比幸运的是，他们除了受到惊吓并未受伤，被救起后周女士感动得哭了，经历了生死的他们真诚的向救了他们的民警和群众表达了感激之情。
