Man rescued after falling into 50-foot-deep well in southern India
An elderly man stranded in a 50-foot-deep well was rescued by the fire department in southern India's Tamil Nadu on October 9.
The rescue operation was carried out in the area of Periyapatti, Namakkal.
Footage shows one of the fire department team members being lowered into the well with the help of ropes.
The rescuer then attaches the harness to the 59-year-old man and he is pulled out of the well safely.
According to reports, locals alerted fire department officials after the elderly man, identified as Selvam, accidentally fell into the well.
