This is the shocking moment a wooden sheet flew off a pickup truck and smashed into an oncoming car.

Nok Yong was driving home along a highway on Chiang Mai, northern Thailand when the item came hurtling threw the air towards her on October 18.

Her dashcam footage shows how the wooden sheet fell from under the car in front, hit the ground and flipped up again before it smashed into her hood.

The woman driving alone was shocked but she was able to hit the brakes in time before it caused a serious crash.

She stopped on the verge and checked her car for damage and noticed scratches on her bumper from the wooden sheet.

Nok Yong said: "It happened so fast, just in a blink of an eye. I needed to focus on what was happening and not panic to avoid an accident."

The woman did not report the incident to the police as her car only had a few scratches but she urged other drivers to be more responsible when using the road.
