Thai man skimboards down road submerged by floodwater
Footage shows a man skilfully riding a skimboard on a flooded road after heavy rain in Thailand.
Prawee Sangngen, 25, was seen riding the flood using a black skimboard outside his house in Sriracha, Chonburi.
The extreme sports fan, who had been skimboarding as a hobby for two years, said he thought of practising his skills on the submerged road as the weather prevented him from going to the beach.
Prawee said: "I tried to look for the bright side of the storm so I spent time working on my balancing skills with the floodwaters.''
His board was seen gliding on the ankle-deep flood while his friend watched him play outside. They were both soaked after a day of splashing and riding in the water. The man said he will do his best to practice his skills more.
Tropical storm Saudel, known locally as Pepito, is currently affecting the region. The storm passed through the Philippines but caused severe floodings, landslides, and massive evacuations across the region.
It has intensified into a severe tropical storm as it moves farther away from the country following the West Philippine Sea direction. It may still intensify in the coming days as it approaches China and Vietnam’s southern tip.
