A deadly cobra was caught inside a treadmill after trying to catch a frog.

Wanchai Jansawang, 29, was walking around the garden of his house in Ang Thong, central Thailand when he found the reptile on November 16.

The homeowner said he saw the venomous snake hunting a frog for dinner before it went inside the treadmill.

He said: "I was frightened when I saw the snake. I immediately knew it was a cobra because of its appearance."

Wanchai immediately called the animal rescuers for help in removing the snake from his property, where it was stuck inside the treadmill.

Local snake handler Jirawat Eiumlamai, who is known in the province, for his skills responded to the call.

He carefully lifted the old treadmill to make space and began to search for the trapped reptile.

Jirawat was looking for it under the running belt until it emerged when he pulled the exercise machine even more.

The skilful rescuer was able to catch the snake using bare hands without any catching tools in a few minutes.

The reptile was placed in a sack unharmed to be released later in the jungle away from the village.

Cobras are venomous snakes, whose bites can be fatal depending on the amount of poison released.
