Kids will be kids – baby Elephant plays in the dirt with mother nearby
The antics of baby Elephants provide endless entertainment. This baby male African Savanna Elephant (Loxodonta africana) was a member of a small herd that arrived at the N’wanetsi River in Kruger National Park just as a large herd of African Buffaloes was leaving. After he had seen off a couple of African Buffaloes (Syncerus caffer), the little Elephant began playing in in the dirt on the edge of the riverbank, only stopping to follow his mother when the adults moved off.
