Amid the Covid-19 pandemic, the Indian Army's 44 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) initiated an awareness program in northern India's Jammu and Kashmir on May 22. The incident took place in Pahnoo village in Shopian District.

A video features the commencement of the program in full swing in broad daylight. Following this, the locals attend the awareness as well the medical camp where the army personnel help them in staying alert of the current situation and provide them precautionary measures against it. Meanwhile, they assist the people and distribute medical supplies from the camp.

The program was conducted to spread awareness about the disease among the people living in remote regions. Following this, the army doctors gave informative lectures on the common symptoms, preventive measures, and management of a patient infected by the coronavirus. Moreover, the awareness program was followed by a medical camp where masks, sanitizers, and medicines were distributed.

Meanwhile, these programs should be followed by or be a part of vaccination drive as vaccines reduce the chance of severe infection. Furthermore, the Indian Army was lauded for their efforts by the people.
