Commuters across the City of Cape Town continue to struggle to travel to and from work as minibus taxi violence across the city intensifies. Buses belonging to the Golden Arrow Bus Service have also come under attack and their drivers have been assaulted and shot at.

One man, who wished to remain anonymous, claimed the taxi violence was because the main taxi associations CATA and CODETA were trying to muscle in on each other's routes.

In some cases, Cape Town law enforcement officers are providing escorts for busses going into volatile areas.
