Armed police laid on the ground to take a nap after working for 12 hours to reinforce a dyke in central China.

The video was filmed in the city of Zhengzhou in Henan Province on July 21.

The armed police reinforced the over 300-metre-long dyke as the heaviest rainstorm on record hit the province.

After the rainfall reduced and the water level in the dyke decreased, the police officers finally got a chance to take a rest.

They laid on the ground next to the dyke to sleep so they can respond quickly if an emergency occurs.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
