A police officer in India came to the rescue of two boys tied to a pole by a shop owner who suspected them of theft, on Friday 6 August.

The incident took place in Betul in Madhya Pradesh.

Video shows the kids tied to the pole, begging to be set free. Fortunately for them, a cop has arrived and engages in a heated argument with the businessman over his behaviour, before freeing them and beginning his investigations.

The merchant claimed he caught them trying to steal items from his warehouse and that he did not beat them.

The children however said he did, and claimed they were only there to seek donations for a Hindu festival.

A spine-chilling incident came to the fore in which people lost faith in humanity in central India's Madhya Pradesh on August 6. The incident took place in Betul.

Visuals feature the minors begging for mercy while being tied to the pole in broad daylight. Fortunately, a cop arrives at their rescue and engages in a heated verbal brawl with the businessman for his inhuman behavior towards little kids based on some baseless theft charge. However, the policemen set the children free and begin their investigation.

The owner of a grocery shop in the Ganj area of Betul tied two kids to the pole after allegedly spotting them stealing some stuff from his warehouse. However, cops received information about this incident and rushed to the spot to teach the man a valuable lesson for his misconduct in behavior and harassing children over petty issues.

Moreover, the man claimed that he did not beat the kids, while the children alleged that he did thrash them beforehand even though they were there for donation purposes for a Hindu festival. However, the businessman did not budge and did stick to his argument while the cops freed the kids and began their investigation while Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDOP), Nitesh Patel, is looking into the matter.
