An Osprey nearly chokes on his fish lunch, then cleans his feet and beak

Eastern Ospreys (Pandion haliaetus cristatus), a type of fish eagle, are particularly abundant around Peel Inlet and Harvey Estuary south of Perth in Western Australia. This adult male was perching in a tree on the edge of Peel Inlet at Coodanup in Western Australia eating a fish. He had trouble swallowing the fish’s tail and seemed uncomfortable for a while. He then began cleaning his beak and feet before descending to the edge of the estuary, where he repeatedly dunked his beak.
