This is the bizarre moment a foreign tourist ranted at police before walking away down the road.

The man was seemingly intoxicated while confronting officials in Bangkok, Thailand on January 8.

Footage shows the shoeless foreigner walking onto the middle of the road and screaming at passing motorists while authorities directed traffic to prevent him from being run over.

Security guards said they noticed the man behaving strangely so they called police. It is not clear why the man was acting that way.

After being apprehended, the man walked into a nearby gas station while still being escorted by police. He was seen drinking from a sidewalk faucet, which he then uses as a podium to give a speech to onlookers filming the strange scene.

The foreigner told the officers: 'I am not wearing shoes because the police scared me away from my own room. They said they were going to come and kill me, that’s why I’m here shouting outside the civil court.

'Don’t ask about me wearing a helmet. The wound on my head is from three officers jumping on me in Chana Songkhram Police Station. I came here by motorcycle. You are free to see my passport and IDs but please do not threaten me.'

Officers let him go on his way once he assured them he would not cause any more problems.
