Locals paraded around an elephant that strayed out of its habitat to chase it away in eastern India's West Bengal on January 26.

The incident unfolded in the Nayagram village of the Jhargram district.

Visuals feature the elephant emerging out of the forest cover and walking on a path adjacent to it. Meanwhile, the locals spot the jumbo in their proximity and begin walking behind it in an attempt to chase it away.

The elephants in the region are known for straying off their corridors to look for food. They often approach the residential region, leading the locals to swing into action themselves.
