In an unfortunate incident , as many as 37 Rosy Starling birds died after crashing and hitting a glass shield of the Surat District Co-operative Bank building at Athwagate area in Surat city of Gujrat . The incident happened on 3rd February around 1 PM in afternoon . According to the watchman of that building he heard some sound of a crash type , when he went to check there he found the carcasses of the birds on the ground. The officials there at bank called some local NGO's , volunteers of the NGO after reaching spot took the carcasses and buried them on the banks of the river. These Rosy Starling birds come from North Asia to India in the month of December and leave by February. According to some NGO members the accident might happened due to the tree reflection on the glass which is opposite to bank , the birds might have confused the glass with tree and the incident happened , bank authorities have ensured that they will cover the glass to avoid any future incident like this
