More than 100 food delivery riders in southern Thailand protested to demand better pay amid rising living and fuel costs.

Video filmed on February 8 shows dozens of green-uniformed riders for the food delivery service LINE Man gathering in front of a fast-food chain in Songkhla province to air their grievances.

A spokesman for the group said: 'We came out to make a claim today, and we would like the company to make a decision. There are many concerns on our part.'

He cited the low salary that was not commensurate with what they earned. He said their take-home pay after taxes was initially 31.33 THB (0.96 USD) for each trip, but their income per order has now slashed down to 27.16 THB (0.83 USD).

He added that a combination of increasing numbers of riders competing for the same amount of work and rising petrol prices were hammering the food delivery workers.

The protesters marched to the Songkhla Damrongtham Centre to file a complaint after the demonstration.
