A French chef was shot and two customers killed in a gunfight following an argument over a business deal for meat, police believe.

Businessman David Bouton was working at his butchery when the couple - another Frenchman with his Thai wife - stormed in and demanded to see him in Bangkok, Thailand, just after lunch.

Staff sent the angry pair - believed to be business customers - to the cold storage room at the ‘Flying Board Bangkok’ where David was busy preparing sausages, one of the main dishes at the shop.

However, stunned workers heard an argument which escalated and was followed by four gunshots. Witnesses then allegedly saw David stumble out of the room holding a gun.

He is said to have had a wound on his body and he was taken to hospital.

Police and paramedics arrived several minutes later to find Marc Lohberger, 66, and his wife Waranya Meeyai, 46, lying dead on the ground floor refrigerator room.

Officers probing the double death believe that the couple had demanded to see David - who supplied leading hotels and shops with sausages and cold cuts - following a business deal that went wrong.
