This is the terrifying moment a sudden storm smashed open the doors of a warehouse in Thailand.

The inclement weather battered the building in Kamphaeng Phet province while employees were going about business as usual on June 16.

However, the workers fled in terror when powerful gusts of wind tore open the metal shutter doors of the warehouse.

Footage shows how staff ran screaming as the gales flung boxes and chairs towards them, and sent a torrent of rain inside.

Some employees were reportedly hurt in the incident, while the warehouse sustained considerable damage.

Thailand and other countries in Southeast Asia such as Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines are in the middle of their tropical monsoon rainy season, which lasts until October or November.

Soaring temperatures reaching 35 degrees Celsius are often followed by powerful tropical storms with thunder, lightning, rain and flash floods.
