A leopard who had fallen inside a well in northern India's Rajasthan, was rescued by forest officials using a cot.

Visuals show them pulling up the cot with the feline sitting on it. As soon as it reached the top, it jumped out and ran away towards the forest.

According to reports, the animal had strayed into the area in search of water and had fallen inside the well on the night of June 24.

A leopard that had fallen inside a well in northern India's Rajasthan, was rescued by forest officials using a cot.

The incident took place in Bid Devgarh area of Rajsamand District on June 25.

Visuals showed the officials pulling the cot while the animal was seated on top. As soon as it reached near the well opening, it jumped out and ran away towards the forest.

According to reports, the animal had strayed into the area in search of water and had fallen inside the well on the night of June 24.

Upon noticing the leopard inside the well, locals informed the forest officials, who rushed to the spot.

After waiting for a team to arrive from the nearby range for two hours, officials present there used a cot and carried out the rescue.

A team consisting of Forest Officer Rajendra Singh Choodawat, Ranger Kamlesh Rawat, Forest Guard Chitra Kumari, Rajesh Kumar, Ashuram Bhil, Shatrughan Singh Choodawat, and Sadri Forest Officer Kishan Singh, carried out the operation.

The well was 40 feet (12.19 metres) deep.
