This is the moment rescuers pulled out a hapless stray dog stuck inside a car bumper after it was hit on a road.

The officers were notified by the driver, who found the pooch crammed into a gap in his sedan's bumper, after running into it on the road in Kamphaeng Phet province, Thailand, on July 27.

The motorist said he had hit the animal while driving home at 1 am but did not try to look for it as the road was too dark at the time. Later that morning, he was shocked to hear the stray's cries and found it miraculously alive with its paw poking out from the front of the car.

Footage shows the rescuers carefully easing out the frightened male dog after partially dismantling the bumper. Incredibly, the lucky canine sustained no injuries and can walk and run normally.

A rescue team spokesman said: 'It's amazing how the dog can run around like nothing happened. We have returned it to where it belongs. It looked very happy running back into the jungle.'
