Kind-hearted residents rescued a puppy trapped in a steel pipe in southwestern China.

Video filmed in the city of Qujing in Yunnan Province on August 28 shows three men lifting up one side of the steel pipe to try to get the puppy trapped inside to slide to the other side of the pipe.

Since the pipe was long and some tree branches were in the middle of it, the puppy could only try to get out of the side with a smaller hole.

So two men tied the wooden stick together to make it into a long stick and put a glove on top of it to insert it into the steel pipe.

They then used the stick to push the puppy to the other side of the pipe which had a bigger hole. Finally, the dog was freed from the pipe.

The filmer named Mr Xia told Yunnan Television that the puppy was stuck in the steel pipe for around three days.

Xia has adopted the dog.
