A transgender teacher was arrested after she allegedly abused pupils aged 10 and 11 at a school in Thailand.

Tananya Chaipanya, 31, allegedly sexually abused ten students, touching their private parts while recording them on video and taking pictures of them in Udon Thani province.

The teacher was arrested after her OPPO smartphone allegedly uploaded a backup of the obscene media on the cloud, which the police found.

The child dance instructor was later detained on August 26 after a warrant was obtained claiming that more than 4,000 explicit pictures and videos of minors were found.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Siripong Phothichaiya said: ‘After a search warrant was issued, we found more than 4,000 still images, mostly girls, and three videos of children taking off their clothes. The suspect admitted to sexually harassing two girls. Now we have received more complaints of rape and indecent acts.'

The pictures and videos were reportedly from 4th and 5th graders at a school where she was a PE teacher that taught dancing to 12 girls.

Tananya's colleague Prawet Chansee, 59, said that the teacher, also known ot pupils by her nickname Kru Jane, is a school alumnus who was gifted in teaching aerobics.

She said: ‘Teacher Jane was very good at aerobics so in 2021 I contacted her to help teach the 4th and 5th graders. The school team went to a competition and won first place so I called her again in 2022.

‘She was given a class of 12 girls throughout July and August for training and from outside, everything appeared to be normal until the arrest.

‘I was shocked so I summoned all the 12 students and asked them about what happened and 10 of them confessed to having been sexually abused. Seven of them were photographed and three were recorded on video.'

During the inquiry, a 5th-grader allegedly said that teacher Jane invited her home after rehearsals and gave her a drink. The young girl remembers falling asleep and waking up to a painful sensation on her genitals and tummy.

Police charged the trans teacher with possession of child pornography and sexual exploitation after she allegedly confessed to taking pictures of the genitals of 10 girls aged 10 to 11 years old.

After being arrested, more students came forward to officers and accused their teacher of sexual abuse and rape.

A 32-year-old relative and mother to a 4th grader also told police that Jane abused her daughter.

She said: ‘On August 19, Jane came to my house to eat BBQ food and she slept in the same room as my daughter. After the arrest, my daughter told me that Jane caressed her body and touched her genitals.'

Grandparents of a 5th grader also noticed that their granddaughter had been behaving unusually aggressive and found that she had also been abused after questioning.

A grandmother said: ‘In July, Tananya came and taught aerobics at home and we thought there was nothing to worry about because she's a trans woman. She forced our girl to remove her clothes and started touching her.

‘When our relatives came home, our little girl said that Tananya covered her mouth and told her to keep quiet before allowing her to get fully dressed and go home.

‘Our granddaughter never said a thing because she was scared. She told us that teacher Jane would be even more aggressive with her if she told anybody.'

Police Lieutenant Colonel Siripong Phothichaiya said the investigation is ongoing to find more evidence.

He said: ‘An investigation will be carried out to find more evidence and more alleged victims. We believe that the suspect has been sending such images and videos to other people and publicising them so she will be prosecuted for exploitation in child pornography and possibly, human trafficking.'
