地震造成中科院观测站垮塌1人遇难
9月5日，四川甘孜州泸定县发生6.8级地震。磨西镇多处发生垮塌，位于此地的中国科学院贡嘎山高山生态系统观测试验站野外站一层全部垮塌。17点15分甘孜州消防救援支队在该观测试验站发现一名被困者，现场确定无生命体征。19点07分已将遇难者遗体救出。
据中国科学院官方通报显示，9月5日中午12时52分，四川泸定发生6.8级地震，造成位于震中附近的成都山地灾害与环境研究所贡嘎山高山生态系统观测试验站受损严重，18名在站人员一度失去联络。地震发生后，中国科学院立即启动应急响应，成都山地所主要领导第一时间带队奔赴贡嘎山站参与现场救援。经初步核实，目前确认1名人员不幸遇难、3名人员受伤，其余14名人员均已安全。
据统计，截止6日中午12点，四川泸定地震已造成65人遇难。（Sichuan Luding Earthquake,china）
