Daredevil drivers braved an overflowing river during a caravan trip in the Philippines.

A group of friends were travelling together on an off-road adventure, but they were met with a swollen body of water following heavy rain in Davao city on September 28.

But the daring motorists drove their pickup trucks across instead of backing up on the rough terrain.

Footage shows the vehicles splashing on the brown rapids to reach the other side of the river.

One of their friends Rachel Costan said: ‘We were thinking about ending the trip earlier than we planned to, but they told us we could do it.

'We were scared that the vehicles could not endure the trail, but we were able to reach our destination and return.'
