A railway officer saves the life of a man who wrongly decides to board a moving train at Sirhind Railway Station, Indian state of Punjab.

Footage shows the passenger, later identified as Rahul Bagga, quickly grabbing the door handle when realistically, it is too late to catch the train. In fact, the vehicle is already leaving the station.

As he is dragged along the pavement, the man doesn't let go. An officer named Sunil Kumar sees him and moves him away from the rail track but unfortunately, he loses his grip.The passenger tumbles but luckly manages to land on the platform.

Gabba didn't report any injuries and went home straight after.

The footage was filmed at platform number 1 at Fatehgarh Sahib district on October 6.

An alert cop saved the life of a man who slipped and fell while boarding a train in northern India's Punjab.

The incident happened at platform number 1 at Sirhind Railway Station in Fatehgarh Sahib district on October 6.

Visuals showed the man trying to get onto the running train (number 14617) when he slipped and fell, seemingly into the gap in the platform. The vigilant cop present there rushed towards him and tried to hold him. He missed the chance and only got hold of his scarf.

A few steps ahead, another man and the cop together pulled him away from the train and saved his life. The man was later identified as Rahul Bagga, son of John Masih. Rahul said that he is fine and will go to his own home.

The brave cop is identified to be a Railway Protection Force Constable, named Sunil Kumar.
