Resident smashes kitchen wall to save kitten stuck in drain pipe
A resident smashed her kitchen wall before using a rope with fish on the end to save a kitten stuck that had been stuck in the drain pipe.
Lisa Asunaro said she had heard faint sounds of a feline crying every time she stood by the sink of her home in Bangkok, Thailand.
A day after she heard the cries, animal lover Lisa sought help searching for the creature as she worried it could be in danger without fresh food and water.
Footage shows Lisa with a rescuer tearing off the gypsum wall after they broke it down using a hammer on December 15.
Lisa said: ‘I could not sleep off thinking where the cat might have been. I knew I had to do something, so I asked for help the next day.'
After removing the board, they found the cat under a pipe, but the hole was too narrow for their hands.
They used a rope with a fish at the end as bait so the cat would hold onto it.
After almost an hour, the kitten was safely pulled up from the drain leading to the sewer. He was unhurt after being trapped under the drain for more than a day.
Lisa has now adopted the kitten to keep as a pet.
She added: ‘The cat will stay with me in the meantime. I am happy he is fine.'
