Forest department officials rescue leopard from village house in northern India
Officials of the forest department captured and rescued a leopard from the Jawan village in northern India's Uttar Pradesh.
The incident reportedly happened in Aligarh district on January 7.
Visuals showed the leopard roaring from inside the house.
In another visual, the leopard was seen being carried out of a building. The wild animal seemed to have been tranquilised and one of the officers was seen holding a stick against its neck to ensure it stayed pinned. The leopard seemed to be unconscious as it was taken out and put inside a vehicle.
A huge group of people had gathered at the spot.
The big cat reportedly tried to attack one of the residents of the house and it is said to have damaged the lights, inverter and motor of the room it was in.
The rescue was led by Aditi Sharma, IFS, Conservator Of Forest and went on for 12 hours.
