A starving dog with its head inside metal box for two weeks was rescued in Thailand.

The hungry pooch searched for food in a garbage pile when it poked inside the discarded crackers tin can in Nakhon Ratchasima province.

Villagers tried to help the weary dog but it was frightened and ran away until rescuers found it.

Footage shows the brown dog with the object around its head while staggering in the cornfield on January 17.

One of the rescuers said: ‘The dog was too thin after not eating for several days. It tried to escape again but this time, we cornered it.'

The volunteers removed the box using a bolt cutter. They fed the dog and gave it water.

A kind villager gave it grilled chicken, dog food, and water which it happily devoured.
