Craig Lucas sings “Purple Rain” at Cape Town Seafood & Jazz Racing Festival
Cape Town, 25 February 2023 - Cape Town artist and singer Craig Lucas sings the legendary Prince song “Purple Rain” at the Splashout Cape Town Seafood & Jazz Racing Festival. Lucas performed in front of crowd at the Kenilworth Race Course for the last summer racing event at the track for this season.
Purple Rain is the title track for the movie of the same name which was released in 1984. On release it sat at number 2 on the US Billboard 100 for 2 weeks. It was kept from the top spot by Wham’s “Wake Me Up Before You Go Go”. Purple Rain is ranked at 18 on Rolling Stone’s “Top 500 Songs Of All Time”.
