A group of motorcycle taxi riders held a protest to urge the government to pressure ride-hailing apps to stop using riders without a public license.

Motorcycle taxi riders from 50 districts in Bangkok, Thailand gathered at the Ministry of Commerce on March 10 at 10.30 AM.

They claimed that app-based ride-hailing services such as Grab and Bolt 'violated the law' and 'threatened their livelihoods'.

Grab is similar to Uber but dominates the Southeast Asia digital ride-hailing market with motorcycles and taxis available round-the-clock for a lower price than those found on the street.
