This brave tourist tried a terrifying snake massage with two mammoth pythons crawling across her body.

Daring customer Maegan Aniel, 23, allowed the massive Burmese pythons to slither on top of her as she enjoyed the bizarre treatment at the Kalibo Ostrich Farm in Aklan, the Philippines, on March 19.

Footage shows how the huge reptiles crawled across Maegan's body, their movement and weight meant to create pressure similar to a relaxing massage.

A caretaker named Aljoy was heard reassuring Maegan that the snakes were non-venomous as one of the pair flicked its tongue closed to the tourist's fingers.

After the massage, Maegan said: 'I was shocked. I didn't know that this type of massage existed. Also, at first, I was scared because I thought they could strangle people and animals.

'I was nervous, but I was not hesitant because it was new to me and I wanted to try it.

'I think it was more mentally challenging, because it was super scary at first, and then when they told me to relax, I took a deep breath and tried to relax my whole body. It was helpful.

'If you're not scared of snakes, I would recommend it 100 percent.'

Reptile handler Aljoy said the farm offered snake massages to clients to help them relax and overcome their fears.

She said: 'The pythons are safe as long as you don't hurt them.

'We put them in their boxes where they are safe and they can't crawl out. We keep them there so they don't escape or wander off elsewhere.

'In my experience, I was scared at first because this is the biggest pair of snakes I've handled. But when I experienced the massage, it actually felt really good. They don't hurt people unless you hurt them.

'For tourists, I would advise that they just relax. Don't get nervous because the snakes can also sense when the customers are scared.'

The unusual service, which lasts for 30 minutes a session, is available at the remote farm near the tourist destination Borocay for a reasonable 300 PHP (5.5 USD).

Farm owner Ramon Dio told local media: 'The snakes are safe because we've been taking care of them since they were small.'

He added that in case the pythons misbehave, a trained zookeeper is always on standby to intervene.

Ramon said: 'We always tell our guests not to be noisy, and not to blow on the snakes. We also don't allow them to eat inside the massage area.'

Aside from the snake massage, there are also some 40 Australian and African ostriches showcased at the farm.
