Godzilla-like monitor lizards wrestled to fight for territory at a park.

The pair of 3ft-long reptiles held up tourists as they duelled along the concrete pathway in Bangkok, Thailand on January 14.

Footage shows the creatures standing on two legs while locking each other in a tight, suffocating embrace while an onlooker watches from a distance.

Tourist Tessa May Choudhry who found the lizards said: ‘I'm not sure if the lizards were being friendly to each other hugging like that.

‘But I made sure to be at least 12ft away from them in case something unexpected happens.'

Asian water monitor lizards normally live in canals, swamps, sewers and ponds in cities in Thailand. They feed on fish, snakes, frogs and scraps of food left by humans.
