Pervert admits stealing hundreds of pieces of underwear and hanging them on 'masturbation tree'
A pervert was arrested after stealing hundreds of pieces of underwear which he pleasured himself with - then hung on a tree.
Ophas Chuenjit, 27, nabbed the bras of knickers from women's washing lines before rubbing them on his face and genitals. Once he had finished with them he used them to meticulously decorate a bamboo thicket in the woods near his home in Kamphaeng Phet, Thailand.
However, Ophas's seedy habit came to an end when locals discovered the sexual shrine adorned with sullied garments on March 24. He was arrested and confessed on March 28, telling cops he could not control his urges when he was drunk.
Shocked passerby Rangsan Jaisaen, 55, who found the repulsive tree, said: "That afternoon, I drove to the area to meet a friend. I used the road behind the Khlong Khlung Hospital, but when I was making a turn, I saw lots of pieces of underwear hanging from the bamboo clumps. I parked the car to record a clip of the scene. There were many expensive brands of underwear. It was so unusual I reported it to the police".
Authorities collected the underwear from the area and took them to the police station as evidence.
Officers said the suspected thief had been indiscriminate, pilfering underwear from men, women, children, and the elderly. They said several residents in nearby villages had complained of missing undergarments but were unaware they had been stolen.
Police Colonel Somchai Mongkonwong, superintendent of the Khlong Khlung Police Station, said cops visited Ophas's house near the bamboo to investigate.
Inside, they said they discovered damning evidence - 67 pieces of unwashed underwear. They had all allegedly been stolen from local homes.
Ophas allegedly admitted to stealing them from nearby communities, saying his libido spiked when he was drunk.
Police Colonel Somchai: "The suspect would sniff the private garments while masturbating, and would discard them once the odour of the owners had faded. He would hang them on the bamboo clump behind the hospital".
Ophas was taken to the police station, where six villagers who claimed their stolen undergarments from his massive collection filed complaints against him.
Officers have urged other potential victims to file reports with the police as they believe there are hundreds more victims.
Ophas has been charged with "stealing others' belongings at night". He now faces a jail sentence of one to five years and a fine between 2,000 to 10,000 baht 47.43 GBP to 237.16 GBP, or both.
