An owlet wandered into a home in Mount Gambier, Australia, looking for help after it had flown into a sticky fly trap.

Footage from February 4 shows the baby owl struggling to lift off as it frantically flapped its wings.

The filmer noticed that something was preventing it from flying.

"After attempting to shoo the owl out the door we noticed it had something stuck around its wing," Lukey Manser said.

They added: "While trying to find something to cover my hand with the owl decided to return inside and get a helping hand with its sticky situation.

"After a very brief and harmless wrestle the young owl was once again free and flew off into the night."
