A sudden, fierce gale took a sheep farm in Tongliao, Inner Mongolia, by surprise on July 7, causing considerable chaos when it swiftly tore away the coloured steel roof of the sheep pen.

The bewildered shepherds, who claim to house more than 400 sheep worth over 500,000 Yuan (£57,000) within the enclosure, were caught off guard. The animals, though visibly shaken, have miraculously escaped unharmed, offering a silver lining to the catastrophe.

The unexpected gusts swept across the grassland with such force that the inhabitants of the farm were left reeling.

The dramatic incident was preceded by a blue warning signal issued by the Inner Mongolia Meteorological Station at 11:15 AM on July 7.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
