During a routine traffic stop in Dimmit County, Texas, on September 7, 2023, Texas State Troopers made a significant discovery.

They found nine illegal immigrants concealed inside a sand trailer that raised suspicions as it was being towed behind a stolen truck tractor and sealed at the top. The incident occurred at around 2:27 am.

The driver, who was from San Antonio, was arrested and faced charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and smuggling persons, which carries the potential for severe bodily injury or loss of life.

The nine individuals discovered in the trailer were identified as illegal immigrants and were referred to Border Patrol for further processing.
