A massive python was captured by the forest department after it devoured a jackal alive at a village in central India's Madhya Pradesh.

This incident happened in Mirkhedi village, Rahatgarh forest range, in Sagar district on October 2.

Visuals showed the python, swollen by the jackal inside, beside a river.

The snake later vomited out the nearly metre (3 feet)-long animal while it was being captured.

With some difficulty, officials captured the snake using rods, putting the reptile in a steel box.

Later, it was also released into the wild.

Reports said children spotted this python passing by a drain and informed the village head, who notified the Rahatgarh forest department.
