Asylum seekers are set to be moved back onto the Bibby Stockholm barge months after they were evacuated due to the discovery of legionella bacteria in the vessel's water supply.

Letters have been reportedly sent to the asylum seekers informing them that they'll be relocated onto the barge on October 19.

The empty Bibby Stockholm immigration barge which is docked at Portland Port near Weymouth in Dorset, UK, is set to be reoccupied next week after the water system was cleaned to remove the deadly legionella bacteria which forces it to be evacuated two months ago. Other safety improvements have been made, with an extra fire escape gangway being installed. Letters have been sent out to asylum seekers informing them that they will be relocated to the barge on Thursday 19th October 2023.
