Two women rescue hedgehog stuck in middle of road with coffee cup on head
This is the heartwarming moment women rescued a hedgehog from being stuck in a plastic coffee cup.
Lena Mall and Yael Hahn were walking through Kehl, Germany, on October 4 when they spotted an animal in distress.
Yael crouched down to the helpless hedgehog and carefully gripped hold of the plastic cup before pulling it off its head.
Once freed, Lena then encouraged the animal to walk off the middle of the road and to the safety of grass on the pavement.
Lena said: “We were so happy to that we were able to free the hedgehog.
“We were walking on the pavement when we spotted the cup moving in the middle of the road.
“When we walked over to it, we realised there was a hedgehog trapped with the cup around its head.
“It would not have been able to free itself and we were worried it would be hit by a car if we didn’t save it.”
