Good Samaritans rallied to recover more than £1,000 cash blown away in strong winds in eastern China.

The CCTV footage was filmed in the city of Qingdao in Shandong Province on December 10.

A man's attempt to pass 10,000 yuan cash to his friend through a car window went awry. The money, intended as a helpful transfer, ended up fluttering across the street, dispersed by an unexpected gust of wind.

Mr Ma, the man responsible for the mishap, had planned to quickly toss the cash into his friend's car. However, his aim misfired, causing the bills to hit the window and scatter in all directions.

Shopkeepers and pedestrians in the vicinity immediately sprang into action. Without hesitation, they joined forces in a spontaneous cash hunt.

In a remarkable turn of events, every single note was recovered. Ma was deeply touched by the swift and selfless response of the bystanders. He expressed his profound gratitude, marvelling at the integrity and kindness of the strangers who came to his aid.
