Man with long, uniquely-matted hair spotted from northern India is sure to catch your attention!
A man who had very long hair, uniquely matted, was found in northern India's Bihar. The unique hairstyle has made him famous and earned him the nickname 'Jata Wale Baba'.
The man, 70 years old, hails from Dhangira village in Munger and this video was shot on December 9.
Visuals showed the man with his hair rolled up and literally piled on his head. His hair was so long that it had to be folded and piled up on his head and to keep that in place, it was tied as well. The man also later let out his hair and it is unlike something which no one has ever seen. The hair was pretty long (8 feet), which is more than his height! As per a report, the man was identified as Sakal Dev Tuddu and he is a contractual worker with the forest department. So how did all of this happen?
Tuddu was 40 when he had gone to Haryana to work at a plastic pipe factory in order to support his family. He woke up one night to find his hair having the matted pattern and the villagers around him hailed it as a miracle of sorts. His unique hair drew comparisons with that of Hindu God Lord Shiva and people started to know more about him. Tuddu said that he even stopped eating non-vegetarian food and turned vegan from then on. In summers, he washes his hair with mud every 10 days since they catch a lot of dust. It also has to be dried with a lot of effort. But Tuddu feels that this hair acts as a shade for him which shields him from the rain. He covers his hair with foil so that it doesn't get wet from rain. His hair weighed 500 grams (1.102 lbs) when he had weighed it.
Tuddu currently works as a guard and protects a thousand trees on the Patheghar-Dangra main road. He also said he enjoys his work. Having started off with Rs 50 per month (USD 0.36) as a salary, he now gets Rs 10,000 (USD 119.95) and has been working for more than 30 years now.
