This is the terrifying moment a wild bear broke into a camper's tent to steal food.

The hungry beast had smelled a meal from local Ann's tent while she and her family were spending the holidays at the Kraeng Kranchan National Park in Phetchaburi province, Thailand on December 30.

Footage shows the bear sniffing around inside the tent, glancing at Ann as she cowered in the corner.

The bear used its sharp nose to pinpoint a plastic bag containing food then grabbed it and left to tuck into its meal.

Stunned Ann said: 'I didn't dare try to drive it away. I was too scared because its claws were huge. I was relieved when it walked away with the food. It didn't seem to be hostile towards me.'

On November 20, an Asian black bear raided a ranger's office in Nakhon Ratchasima province in Thailand. It had smashed through a window and made off with an entire pot of food left in the pantry room dining table.
