A passerby rescued a driver trapped inside his burning vehicle in China.

Chen noticed smoke pouring from the car when it stopped in the middle of the road with the driver stuck in his seatbelt. The brave onlooker jumped into the burning vehicle to drag the driver to safety in Jiangsu province on January 11.

Footage shows the aftermath of the rescue as an injured man stood near his burning sedan, looking dazed and singed from the flames.

Paramedics treated his burn injuries that hurt his back and shoulders while firefighters put out the blaze in his car.

Meanwhile, parts of Chen's coat caught fire but did not spread after helping the man.

He said: ‘It was quite frightening but if I didn't help him, he might not have survived.'
