Grand theft jumbo! Quick-thinking car owner closes door after cheeky elephant opens it
A quick-thinking car owner closed his door after a cheeky elephant opened it.
Josep Aguilar, 56, was camping in Mana Pools, National Park, Zimbabwe, when an adult bull started paying close attention to his neighbour.
Funny footage shows the massive animal looking into the vehicle’s window before opening the door with its trunk.
Wary of the elephant stealing stuff from inside, the car’s owner acted fast and shut the door before appearing to tell the animal off.
Josep, from Barcelona, Spain, said: “I was absolutely shocked when I realized that the elephant opened the door so quickly.
“I was even more stunned when I saw the owner close the door just two metres away from the elephant, something which could have been really dangerous.
“Never in my 20 years of safaris have I seen an elephant doing something like that.
“That elephant was around my car while I was having lunch and I was filming it, so I had my camera ready.
“It was the next campsite car, some 20metres from mine. The elephant was very fast. He tried for a couple of seconds and the door was open.”
