Tourist tries one of Tokyo's notorious capsule hotels
A tourist recorded herself trying one of Japan's notorious capsule hotels.
Footage shows holidaymaker Irene Rose Ortega from Manila, the Philippines, checking in at the tiny accommodation in Tokyo on January 30.
The compact pods offer a place to stay for travellers on a budget who don't mind the claustrophobic space.
She said: ‘I found the experience affordable and convenient, with hot drinks and snacks available.'
‘Capsule hotels are not just for solo travellers; families can enjoy them too.'
Capsule hotels originated in Japan and are relatively commonplace across Asia. They are particularly for foreign tourists, and can be seen as an intriguing novel lodging experience.
