An angry mob surrounded the home of a teacher whose brother allegedly raped her four-year-old student in India.

The girl reportedly attended a tutorial class at the instructor's home on March 23 afternoon where the 34-year-old brother also lives.

When her classmates and teacher were away, the brother allegedly approached the child and sexually assaulted her before allegedly threatening her not to tell anyone.

But at home, the scared little girl's mother noticed her daughter's private parts had been bleeding through her pants and rushed to the police for help.

Following complaints, furious protesters gathered outside the teacher and her brother's house, which prompted the deployment of officers as some of them had started to vandalise the property and cars parked around.

Footage shows hundreds of angry residents shouting and chanting outside the house, demanding justice for the four-year-old girl on March 24.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Apoorva Gupta, who visited the area, said in a statement: 'Last night, a case of alleged rape involving a four-year-old girl surfaced in the Mandawali police station.

'The police registered a case under appropriate sections and arrested the suspect on the same day.'

Officials said the girl was taken to the hospital for a health check and counselling.

A Delhi Police Public Relations Officer said: ‘The victim has been provided with medical assistance at AIIMS and is recuperating under medical care.

'Her counselling is being done, and criminal psychologists are attending to her so that she recovers from the trauma at the earliest.'

The teacher's brother has been arrested and remanded in custody along with some of his family members, police added.
