On March 27th, the outer layer of the terminal building roof at Kunming Changshui International Airport in Yunnan Province, southern China, was blown away by strong winds, causing debris to scatter in the air.

On the evening of March 27th, the official Weibo account of Kunming Airport (Kunming Changshui International Airport) issued a situation report, stating: At around 11:50 PM on March 27th, due to rare short-duration severe wind weather (with gusts exceeding 27 meters per second), part of the metal roof of Terminal 1 (T1) at Kunming Airport was lifted, and some white flexible thermal insulation materials fell off. Upon inspection, no injuries were reported at the scene, and neither aircraft nor vehicles were damaged. The main structure of the terminal building was unaffected.

Currently, Kunming Airport is operating normally, with additional personnel stationed in the terminal building and related areas to ensure the safety of passengers. Kunming Airport immediately organized personnel and equipment to repair the damaged roof and actively took measures to reinforce it. We appreciate the concern from all sectors of society regarding Kunming Airport.
