This is the amusing moment rescue volunteers abandoned a hair dye job to respond to an emergency in Thailand.

The officers were on their lunch break and decided to dye their gray strands when they were notified about a boy drowning in a canal in Bangkok on March 19.

With their hair still caked in product, the men sprung into action, donning their uniforms and grabbing life jackets and floatation devices to conduct the rescue.

Thaweesak Komuk, a volunteer at the Ruamkatanyu foundation, said: 'At around 12:30 pm, we received a call that a child had fallen into the water at the Khlong Saen Saep canal. We didn't bother cleaning our hair and just rushed out of the office to save him.

'When we reached the scene, we found the boy, around seven to nine years old, struggling because he had been swimming for nearly 10 minutes. We managed to put him in a life jacket and pulled him to safety.

'At that moment, we didn't think about our hair at all. Of course, the life of a person is more important.'
