Footage shows various workers unloading supplies from a truck in flood hit West Sumatra, Indonesia.

However, insufficient gasoline and blocked road bridges pose a challenge for the distribution of supplies in West Sumatra, where cold lava landslides and flash floods have hit many areas following torrential monsoon rains, causing death and destruction.

A soup kitchen at Tanah Datar Regency in West Sumatra that offers food to more than 2,000 evacuees at least twice a day also serves as a logistics center, providing clothes for those in need.

All supplies, such as food and clothing for the affected in West Sumatra will be transported to the kitchen before they are distributed to smaller logistics station across the region.

This central logistics center received a total of 810 kilograms of rice, 130 boxes of bottled drinking water and 11 big sacks of clothes on Tuesday, some of which were donated by residents in the region.

"Supply of gas is of vital importance for us managing logistics distribution. If we don't have gas, it will make things even more difficult for us. More than 2,400 evacuees need to be given accommodation. Not having enough gas will create problems," Yusrizal, head of Tanah Datar Regency Office, Ministry of Information and Communications said.
